Making Change in the World

Everyone wants to see positive change in the world.  The way to make change in the world is to put your energy toward things you would like to see happen.  Very often we spend most of our time complaining about the things wrong with the world: the injustice, the greed, the dishonesty and so forth.

One day I logged onto the internet and I read that Julia Roberts had been awarded, “The most beautiful woman for 2017”.  It was apparently her third time in taking this title.   Being a writer, or maybe it’s the psychologist in me,  I’m always fascinated to read people’s comments. I like to keep track of the public opinion, whether or not it bears any resemblance to my own thoughts.  There was diversity in the opinions but one comment stood out.  It is not often that this happens for me- I usually have my own comment and it’s nearly always ‘kept to myself’.

Although I don’t have the exact wording, this lady said something like;

“Where’s the list?- Who decides?- What about the lady in my street that delivers food to the homeless?  Pick the most beautiful women in your life and honour them.”

I thought, “What a great idea”.

That week, I did a Facebook Post to the most beautiful women in my life.

It is worthwhile to remember that it is far more rewarding to honour the people we admire for their exceptional inner beauty, than to constantly degrade those less humble or those we may consider less worthy souls.

Put your energy into that of which you want to see more.  Very often, we get triggered by things with which we do not agree, and it sparks an attack, which often only produces more of that which we find irritating.  So this week:

Think of the most beautiful women OR men in your life, and Honour them!
